The Rappahannock River, flowing so close to our campus, is integral to life at Christchurch School. Whether by science, athletics or recreation, it marks our days and our memories. It makes Christchurch unique.
Our hands-on science programs use the river and its access to the Chesapeake Bay for observations, monitoring, and experiments. Our sailors won the 2005 VISSA state championship and our rowers have earned scholarships to NCAA Division I crew programs. Students and other faculty enjoy the river in many other ways, from a bonfire at Homecoming to recreational swimming, canoeing, fishing and kayaking.
Enhancing our waterfront facilities will allow us to create top marine and environmental science programs, and to continue the growth in our sailing and crew programs. These opportunities for our students will uniquely position us in the competitive boarding school environment, making the river the place to begin the high school journey.
