1-4 Weeks, Ages 12-15
Coed Boarding and Day
Weeks of June 21 to July 18, 2009
The Summer Camp on the River Crew Camp at Christchurch School is excited to be offering a comprehensive and fun introduction to rowing for boys and girls age 12-15. Our top of the line fleet of rowing shells and our twelve seat training barge is the perfect stable platform to introduce technique and build confidence. All of our crew shells are housed at the Historic Rosegill Plantation nestled on the banks of Urbanna Creek, the perfect location for discovering the sport of rowing and the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay region of Virginia.
In addition to introducing technique, campers will be challenged by instruction in fitness and strength training. The Christchurch School Crew Coach Steve Fluhr believe that instruction should be coupled with fun on the water as well as conditioning the body for the sport of rowing.
Campers are placed according to both age and experience level. This allows each camper the chance to significantly improve their understanding of rowing and to do so in a relaxed, enjoyable environment.
