Summer Camps on the River is different than other camps, we run a specialty recreational camp. You choose your favorite activity and focus on that for one week at a time.
You can build a fun summer by choosing a different activity every week or choose the same program for the entire four weeks.
We provide many of the elements found in a traditional camp; independence and opportunities to meet new people. We have summer camp without roughing it! Our desire to have fun, and ability to offer individual assistance helps to make our summer camp an exciting and positive experience. Summer Camps on the River is an integral part of Christchurch School, which is accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools.

Summer Camps on the River offers a variety of recreational camps. Our long standing Sailing, and Crew camps are growing in popularity. Our Marine Science camps known as Rappahannock Adventures sell out every year.  Fishing camp grows every year and fills early!
NEW this summer is our Team Racing Sailing Camp.

Take Note: We still have room in most of our weeks, but our camps are filling up quickly, so sign up today. You are welcome to call or email to be sure!

Evening activities take advantage of our beautiful campus and include volleyball, basketball, swimming, soccer, and tennis. We consider ourselves experts at speedball, frisbee golf, and dodgeball.

Weekend activities offer entertainment both on and off campus including excursions to theme parks and nearby historic attractions. The cost of these activities is included in the boarding tuition. On the weekend campers are allowed to be picked up for the weekend, but may not leave with anyone but their guardian unless prior arrangements are made with the director.

After your registration is accepted and your application fee paid, you will receive a packet of information with details about camp, a medical form, and other program details. You may bring your medical form with you when you come to Registration between 2:00 and 4:00 PM on your arrival day.

Transportation is available from the Richmond or Newport News Airport, and the Staples Mill Railroad Station in Richmond or the train station in Williamsburg.

Would you like a live tour? Because we are on the campus of a boarding school, we are very available for tours at your convenience. Please call or email the email the director to set up an appointment!! Our director has been running camps for 18 years! We are having an open house on April 12, 2008.

Summer Camps on the River is a quality program that requires advance planning. Often, the bulk of your fees are committed or spent weeks before the campers arrive, and because of this refunds should not be expected. Our refund policy is listed in the program packet that you will receive upon application.
