Coed Boarding and Day
Weeks of June 15 to July 12, 2008
Limited to 40 kids
Sailing Weeks 1&2 (June 15-28) are both full. Please choose one of our other 2 weeks
Under our new director David Livingston, sailing techniques, rigging, points of sail, terminology, and safety are all covered in this exciting recreational camp, which provides basic through intermediate training. In addition to lectures and on-shore instruction, the program embraces plenty of practical experience sailing on the Rappahannock River. The program has more than 20 boats which are used throughout the course allowing a well-rounded experience. Some of our boats include: Laser, Club 420, Force 5, and Lightning. The curriculum is a recreational introduction to one-design racing. Our goal is to sail every day - The only thing that stops us is bad weather, in fact in during the last three years we only missed one day each year!
Campers are grouped according to their abilities and needs. Games like sail-tag and sail-capture-the-flag put purpose to the skills learned.
Campers are encouraged to stay two or more weeks to finish all instruction and to have the opportunity to try all the boats.

For experience sailors we offer a one week seminar in Team Racing. Spend a week catching the wave of the growing popularity of team racing. A nationally recognized team racing expert will work on filling your expertice in Pass-backs, mark-traps, and especially team work. Participants should be experienced and be ready to focus on technique rather than learning how to sail.
