1 to 4 Weeks, Ages 9-15
Coed Boarding and Day
Weeks of June 21 to July 18, 2009
Limited to 40 kids
Under the direction of our highly trained staff campers will learn the basics of sailing techniques, rigging, points of sail, nautical terminology, and safety. In addition to hands-on instruction campers can expect to be introduced to knot tying, sail making, and the affects of the environmental conditions on the water.
This program is an awesome introduction to the fine art of sailing for the novice and enrichment for the more experienced. Whether your camper is an experienced captain looking to enrich current skill set or a novice deck hand wanting to spend time becoming more confident, campers can expect to have the time of their life on the water while making new friends.
Campers will be divided by age and skill level on the first day of camp.
Campers who attend more than one week of sailing camp have the opportunity to move into a higher skill level each week upon showing an increase in skill level.
Christchurch fleet includes: Laser, Club 420, Force 5, and Lightning sail boats.
