Christchurch School sits on a bend of the Rappahannock River, a hundred and twenty-five riverfront acres in the heart of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. No other school in the country offers this exact combination of setting and education. The river is not scenery here. It is a working classroom, a research laboratory, a demanding athletic field, and on quiet mornings, something closer to a chapel.

Students study it, sail on it, and sit beside it. Class field research happens on its banks. Regattas fill it with color in the spring. Leadership programs use it to teach students what it means to depend on each other. And when a student needs a few minutes of stillness, the river is always there, doing what it has always done.

We are an hour from the nearest city, and we like it that way. The distance clears out the noise. What is left is a campus where students can actually hear themselves think, and where the natural world is close enough to teach them something every day.
