Math is a language. We teach students to speak it.
Most schools teach math as a set of procedures to memorize. We teach it as what it actually is: a universal language, one of the few places where truth can be proven absolutely, and a way of thinking that reaches far beyond the classroom. Christchurch students don't just learn to solve problems. They learn to feel the beauty in numbers, to discover solutions on their own, and to see the truth behind any narrative built on data. The goal isn't knowing the answer. It's understanding why it's true.
