Levels of Support
Three pathways, one trajectory
Christchurch offers three pathways that reflect a student’s current level of independence and long-term goals. Names are being updated this year to clarify each stage.
Core Skills
LSP Core Skills & Application
Every Other Day
Most students begin here. They learn essential skills, gain structure, and build a foundation for stronger academic habits. Classes are small and often span multiple grade levels, so students share strategies, talk through upcoming assignments, and practice applying skills to real work.
Foundations
LSP Foundational Support
Daily Class
Designed for students who need more intensive support. Many have significant working memory or processing challenges, or benefit from more direct instruction. These students tend to be highly motivated and ready to invest deeply in their growth. The model mirrors college-prep: steady guidance combined with higher expectations.
Mastery
LSP Mastery & Self-Advocacy
Senior Level
A transition year where seniors shift from guided support to personal ownership: planning, self-advocacy, college readiness, and accountability. Students learn to approach professors, manage deadlines, and navigate complex tasks without relying on daily check-ins. This stage prepares them to thrive after graduation.
