Defend the river, get in the game.
Sports are woven into daily life at Christchurch. Whether your child is an aspiring college athlete or simply wants to play for the love of it, there is a place on the field, the court, or the water for every student, boarding and day.

Your coach knows you off the field, too.
At Christchurch, many coaches are also teachers and dorm parents. A coach who sees your child in the classroom, in the dining hall, and in the residence hall is able to coach the whole person, not just the athlete. That closeness is our competitive advantage, and it is why students here so often surprise themselves with what they can do.
Most students play two competitive sports a year, and every athlete trains in our Strength & Fitness program. Competing teaches sportsmanship, teamwork, and the quiet discipline of hard work, lessons that last long after the final seconds tick off the clock.
The Rappahannock is part of the team.
Our 125-acre campus sits on the Rappahannock River, and our sailors train and compete on the water beside it. The program won the 2019 National Team Racing Championship and sails in the Virginia Interscholastic Sailing Association.
