  • Q. How do I apply to Christchurch School?

    To begin the application process,  click on the Apply Online link from the Admission Process page.
  • Q. When will I receive my I-20?

    Upon acceptance, we require a signed enrollment agreement and deposit. Once these items are received will will issue the I-20.
  • Q. Which airport shall I use when traveling to and from campus?

    Please make sure all flight arrangements are made to and from RIchmond International Airport (RIC). Itineraries should be sent (via e-mail) to the Theresa Perry in the Community Life Office at tperry@christchurchschool.org.
  • Q. Can I travel on my own during school breaks?

    During school breaks, if you are under 18, you must travel with a guardian over the age of 21.You do not need to be accompanied by an adult to travel home or on your way to stay with a guardian. This guardian must be listed in the Magnus Portal in the beginning of the year as an approved guardian. This guardian must complete two forms to ensure they will be taking care of you. If you are over 18 and on Dean's or Headmaster's list, you may travel alone with the following criteria: approval from parents acknowledging your travel plans, detailed itinerary, emergency contact information, travel companions, and approval from the International Student Coordinator prior to travel.
  • Q. Do I need to get any vaccinations and/or health checks before I arrive?

    Yes! Please have your parent log in to their account on the Christchurch School portal. Then, go to the RESOURCE page. Click on MAGNUS HEALTH PORTAL.
  • Q. Is there a uniform?

    Yes. Every Wednesday you will wear formal school uniform (with blazer) or professional dress for ladies. Throughout the year, there will be special school events wehre the ladies will also wear the formal school uniform. All students should bring a navy blazer, white collared shirt, and khaki pants or skirts. 
  • Q. Do you accept telephone interviews?

    If a family or prospective student is not able to visit campus during the application process, we request that you schedule a SKYPE interview.
  • Q. Will I be able to stay on campus during school vacations and holidays?

    Our school calendar includes several vacations including Thanksgiving (November), Christmas (December) and Spring Break (March) when our dormitories are closed. Please contact the Admission Office to hear more about how we accommodate student needs over breaks. 


  • Q. Do I need health insurance?

    Yes. You must use the ISM/ACE Insurance, as this is the one that works at all hospitals and doctors near the school. There are three choices. You many choose the best that suits you and your family. Here is the link: http://isminc.com/insurance/international-student-accident/faq
  • Q. Do I need a U.S. bank account?

    Yes. You are only able to open an account with a parent. If you are not arriving with a parent, unfortunately, this is not possible. You will need to use your international card. If you arrive with a parent, you should go to Bank of America and open up a checking account with a debit card. You will need to take your passport with you. If you are 18 or older, you can open an account by yourself. The school arranges trips to the bank throughout the year. 
  • Q. Will I be picked up at the airport?

    Christchurch School requests that all students arrive at Richmond International Airport (RIC).  Please notify us in advance of your itinerary in order for the school to arrange transportation from the airport to the school.  The School is located approximately 50 minutes east of Richmond International Airport.
  • Q. Who will take care of me while I am a student at Christchurch?

    All Christchurch students become a part of our school family.  As a student, you will be assigned a faculty advisor who will meet with you daily to make sure that you are happy, comfortable, completing your academic responsibilities and communicating with your family.  In addition, faculty in the ESL department will closely supervise your transition and daily life at Christchurch.
  • Q. Will I have an roommate?

    Yes, each room has two students. You will be paired with a student who shares some of your interest and speaks a different mother tongue.  
  • Q. Who can I talk to if I have a problem?

    The first point of contact is your advisor. Your advisor can help you find the person who can help you with your problem. If your advisor can't help, you may then go to the International Student Coordinator.
  • Q. Can I have/use a phone on campus?

    Yes. The best available on campus is Verizon. You may use your phone most of the day, excluding class time, in the dining hall and during school-wide events, such as assembly and chapel.
