There are three categories within the Hall of Fame: Lifetime Achievement, Athletics, and the Special Recognition.
Nomination and selection into the Lifetime Achievement Hall of Fame is based on a minimum of thirty (30) years of outstanding and consistent achievement and service in profession and/or avocation, as indicated by position, awards, and lifetime accomplishment. Service must be non-partisan and life-affirming. Exceptions made for extraordinary heroism, extraordinary invention; research or entrepreneurial activity that creates a permanent benefit to society or solution to global issues, or extraordinary philanthropy to the School or an organization or cause that advances its mission exponentially. The nominee is to be an alumnus/a of Christchurch School; exception would be under extraordinary circumstances.
The Athletic Hall of Fame is made up of three categories:
Athlete nominees must have attended Christchurch School for a minimum of two (2) years. An athlete becomes eligible for induction five (5) years after graduation. Selection is based on athletic ability, sportsmanship, leadership, contribution to team and the games in which the nominee participated. Additionally, selection will include consideration of the following accomplishments: all-conference, all-state, and All-American awards, any individual or team championship, any record or winning streak, and league leader in recognized statistical category. Selection may also be based on post-graduate activities, including college and professional experience.
The coach nominees must be a former coach and should have coached at Christchurch for at least five (5) years and will be eligible for induction five (5) years after leaving Christchurch. Selection is based on coaching ability, loyalty to The School, teaching ability, leadership, athletic expertise, and contribution to their teams and to the sports they coached. Selection is also based on prior and subsequent success as a player and/or coach.
The team nominees are eligible when all team members are graduated for at least five (5) years. Selection is based on number of championships won and record status attained. Exception would be under extraordinary circumstances. The team may be selected even if one of the members may become ineligible, but the overriding principle of team excellence is of ultimate importance.
The Special Recognition Hall of Fame has two categories:
The Faculty and Staff nominees for the Special Recognition category must be former faculty and staff and should have worked at Christchurch for at least five (5) years and will be eligible for induction five (5) years after leaving Christchurch. Selection is based on a career that brought great credit to Christchurch. Selection is also based on prior and subsequent success.
