Full-Time Position Beginning August, 2018
Christchurch School seeks candidates for the position of English teacher. Our school features an integrated, skills and place-based curriculum developed around the Rappahannock River and the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. We teach English with an awareness of school-wide themes and a focus on skills development and mastery rather than simply on content. The person in this position will teach four classes, and should expect to contribute outside the classroom by coaching and by taking part in rotating dormitory supervision.
We are looking for candidates interested in joining a department with a progressive approach to teaching, and who are genuinely interested in working collaboratively with colleagues both within and beyond the department. Qualified candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in English or a related field. Formal education training and teaching experience are desirable. Candidates should also be realistic and excited about the challenges and rewards of teaching and living in a boarding school, as well as working with students who have a wide variety of learning styles and ability levels.
Please submit an electronic resume, statement of teaching philosophy, and a letter of interest directly to Neal K. Keesee, Ph.D., Associate Headmaster, at email@example.com
Please be sure to indicate in your materials your interest in and qualification for co-curriculars.
