Christchurch to Offer Summer Camps 2026

Christchurch School announces that registration for its 2026 Summer Camps is now open. This summer, the school is offering three very different  experiences designed especially for students who want to stay active, try something new, and grow in independence. All three camps take place on the school's 125-acre, waterfront campus located in Middlesex County.

Activities include soccer, baseball, softball, two-hand touch football, basketball, swimming, fishing, canoeing, and water safety lessons.

ADVENTURE SAILING ON THE RIVER (NEW Day Camp)

    Session II, July 6-10, $600
A hands-on sailing experience where campers learn new skills, build resilience, and gain confidence on the water in a safe and structured environment. Activities include expedition sailing, seamanship, exploration, reliance, problem-solving skills and more!

OASIS ON THE RIVER (NEW Overnight Camp)
    Rising 4th, 5th, 6th graders
    July 12-18
    $2100
A sleepaway experience in partnership with St. Stephens and St. Agnes School that blends adventure, community, and personal growth — giving students a safe and supportive introduction to greater independence. Activities include archery, sailing, fishing, canoe and kayak adventures, nature walks, marine science, arts and crafts, outdoor camping, campfires, and s'mores!

Beyond the activities themselves, these summer programs help campers build real-world confidence; make new friendships; spend meaningful time outdoors — away from screens; and grow in responsibility and teamwork.
Spots are filling quickly and we expect programs to reach capacity soon. View full details, see digital flyers, and complete registration at https://christchurchschool.org/summer-programs-2026

Christchurch to Join LIS for Girls Athletics

Christchurch School Director of Athletics and Co-Curriculars Joel Jorgensen announces that Christchurch has been unanimously voted into the League of Independent Schools (LIS) for the 2026-27 school year. Christchurch will compete in the LIS for volleyball, girls basketball, girls soccer, and softball. The LIS is one of the oldest girls-only leagues in the country. Other LIS members include: Collegiate School (Richmond), Norfolk Academy (Norfolk), St. Catherine's School (Richmond), St. Gertrude's School (Richmond), St. Anne's Belfield (Charlottesville), St. Margaret's School (Tappahannock), Trinity Episcopal (Richmond), and Veritas School (Richmond).

Associate Director of Athletics and Assistant Girls Basketball Coach Taylor Carter says, "Being accepted into the LIS is an honor and a credit to our student-athletes. This milestone represents the recognition our program has worked hard to earn at CCS. While I have only been here for three years, I’ve witnessed tremendous growth and meaningful strides in our girls basketball program, making this an exciting and rewarding moment. It also represents a healthy challenge—one we are eager to embrace through competition while proudly representing our school with Seahorse pride."

Head of School Billy Coyle adds, "This is a proud moment for Christchurch athletics. I am thrilled for this opportunity for our female athletes to now be part of this prestigious league. Our entire community and all our Seahorse alumni should be excited for what's to come!"
