Yes. Every Wednesday you will wear formal school uniform (with blazer) or professional dress for young women. Throughout the year, there will be special school events where the young women will also wear the formal school uniform. All students should bring a navy blazer, white collared shirt, and khaki pants or skirts.
Our school calendar includes several vacations including Thanksgiving (November), Christmas (December) and Spring Break (March) when our dormitories are closed. For these breaks, Christchurch offers various exciting trips and options. Please contact the Admission Office to hear more about how we accommodate student needs over breaks.
You are only able to open an account with a parent. If you are not arriving with a parent, unfortunately, this is not possible. You will need to use your international card. If you arrive with a parent, you should go to Bank of America and open up a checking account with a debit card. You will need to take your passport with you. If you are 18 or older, you can open an account by yourself. The school arranges trips to the bank throughout the year.
All Christchurch students become a part of our school family. As a student, you will be assigned a faculty advisor who will meet with you daily to make sure that you are happy, comfortable, completing your academic responsibilities and communicating with your family. In addition, faculty in the ESL department will closely supervise your transition and daily life at Christchurch.
The first point of contact is your advisor. Your advisor can help you find the person who can help you with your problem. If your advisor can't help, you may then go to the International Student Coordinator.
