Assistant Boys Lacrosse Coach, Athletic Operations & Residential Faculty
Position Overview
Christchurch School seeks an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our lacrosse program and athletic department. This position offers the opportunity to positively influence young people in a competitive athletic environment while becoming an integral member of a vibrant boarding school community.
This position offers far more than coaching experience. The successful candidate will gain meaningful exposure to every facet of a competitive boarding school athletic program, including coaching, recruiting, admissions, student development, event management, facilities operations, and athletic administration.
Primary Responsibilities
Lacrosse Program

Assist in all aspects of the Christchurch School lacrosse program, including practices, competitions, player development, and team operations

Support the identification, evaluation, and recruitment of prospective student-athletes

Contribute to practice planning, game preparation, film analysis, and opponent scouting

Develop meaningful relationships with current players while helping them grow as students, athletes, and leaders

Communicate with prospective families and represent the program during campus visits, showcases, and recruiting events
Athletic Operations & Program Support

Assist with the admissions and enrollment process for prospective student-athletes, including communication, campus visits, and recruitment events

Support athletic department scheduling, logistics, and event operations

Coordinate team travel, transportation, and game-day preparation

Assist with equipment management, inventory, and ordering

Help oversee athletic facilities and supporting the setup and maintenance of competition and practice venues

Contribute to athletics communications, social media, and promotional initiatives

Support summer camps, clinics, and special events hosted by the athletic department

Taking on special projects and departmental initiatives based on interests and professional development goals

Coaching a secondary sport in the fall/winter seasons (Football, Basketball, Soccer, etc)
Residential Life & Student Support

Serve as a trusted mentor and role model within the boarding community

Support student activities, campus events, and community programming

Serve as an advisor and advocate for a group of students
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required
-
Collegiate lacrosse playing experience preferred

Previous coaching experience is welcomed but not required

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Highly organized, dependable, and self-motivated

Willingness to embrace the unique opportunities and responsibilities of boarding school life
Work environment and physical demands

Ability to be mobile around campus and buildings

Ability to work at a desk and computer screen for extended periods

Ability to drive students in a school vehicle

Some travel required (mainly for athletic competitions)
