In order to continue recruiting and retaining the highest caliber faculty, Christchurch must offer them the best possible place to call home.
“Christchurch faculty changed my life and countless others for the better. Attracting and keeping the best faculty is essential to the future of the school. This starts with giving them the best possible place to call home. I hope you will join me in supporting the Course for Faculty Housing.”
– Mr. E. Carlton Wilton, Jr. ’70
Recognizing that faculty housing was a critical need that could not wait, Christchurch constructed the first new faculty housing built on campus in decades. The return on this investment has been immediate, with four faculty families now living in new,
well-appointed homes on campus.
The
Setting the Course campaign also funded much-needed renovations to three existing faculty homes on Seahorse Lane and elsewhere on campus.
Our resident faculty members will put down roots at Christchurch, and will develop and lead the programs that shape our students' lives and enhance our school's reputation domestically and abroad.
"Our new housing makes us feel more tied to the school community. We've bonded with our fellow teachers and our kids have bonded with other faculty children. Even our dog is integrated into campus life! Christchurch feels more like a permanent home now that we live on campus. At Christchurch School, we say we are family. Living on campus really makes that saying feel true."
– Elsie Delva-Smith, Director of Diversity, Inclusion, and Culture
