Christchurch School's aquaculture program is thriving this fall. The group meets each afternoon for two hours at the school's waterfront, where they tend to the school's oyster farm. The students gather, sort, and clean the school's oysters, and collect pertinent data. The group promotes the school's Cans For Oysters Program, which finances the farm. Each aluminum can that the students gather and recycle roughly pays for one spat.
The Aquaculture Program is led by Dr. Chris Little. Student leaders for the fall are Chase Carneal of Heathsville, VA and Selam Sebsebe of Hawassa, Ethiopia.
