LIVING AND WORKING IN TIDEWATER, VIRGINIA

Not only are we excited to share our school with you but we are also excited to share our location with you. One of the key aspects of a CCS experience is bringing our place into our students’ experiences. One of the pillars of our educational philosophy is making learning relevant and we can think of no better way to do so than by our unique location. Equally, we find it is a great place to live as well. While it is rural in nature, we are lucky that our faculty families can combine that safety and security with our international population of students to bring an international feel to small-town living. Our area also provides wonderful access to recreational activities on the Chesapeake Bay. Situated on the banks of the Rappahannock River in rural Tidewater, Virginia, Christchurch is near to the village of Urbanna and the towns of Gloucester and Kilmarnock. We are forty-five minutes from Williamsburg (home of the College of William and Mary), and one hour from both Richmond and the Hampton Roads area. With a student population of 200 and a teaching faculty of 30, the atmosphere on campus is collegial, friendly, personal, and above all, community-oriented.

We know that treating our job as a profession is important. We also know that living in a beautiful place with proximity to a wide variety of activities is just as important to attract individuals who want to make CCS a place to live, work, and play.
